Prestressed concrete bridges over estuarine and coastal rivers and canals, interchange flyovers, box culverts and road tunnels – from geological and hydrological data to design documents and construction testing.

6 representative projects completed

Scope of activities

  • Prestressed bridges over coastal rivers and canals
  • Flyovers at grade-separated junctions with national roads
  • Bridges and approach roads linking islands to the mainland
  • Bridges and culverts on widened national roads
  • Box culverts protecting oil pipelines
  • Road tunnels
  • Geological and hydrological survey at piers and abutments
  • BIM models for road sections that include bridges

Most of the bridges in TDC's portfolio stand in the estuarine and coastal areas of Ba Ria – Vung Tau: the Cua Lap Bridge; the Vam Gui and Rach Muong bridges on the Cai Mep – Thi Vai inter-port road; the flyover at the National Road 51 interchange on Road 991B; and the bridge and road linking Go Gang Island with Long Son Island. Alongside these are bridges and culverts on National Road 55, and prestressed reinforced concrete bridges on the West Ring Road of Buon Ma Thuot City. Every structure starts from topographic, geological and hydrological data collected on site by the Company's own survey teams.

Field data

  • Topographic survey with drones (Flycam) and GPS RTK; geological and hydrological survey right at the bridge site.
  • Comparison of location, span and structural options from the feasibility study stage.

Structural design

  • Technical design, construction drawings and cost estimates for reinforced and prestressed concrete bridges.
  • Design of interchange flyovers, box culverts and cross-road culverts; revised design documents when a package or its scale changes.
  • BIM models (Civil 3D, Revit, InfraWorks) for road sections that include bridges.

Testing

  • Testing of materials and structures at the Company's own LAS-XD HCM.013 laboratory.

Experience and capability

Bridge structures are analysed with MIDAS and foundations and soft ground with PLAXIS; the whole process, from survey and design to testing, runs under the ISO 9001:2015 quality management system.
